So, my much long awaited/ anticipated holidays pretty much just ended.

I’d say it was a holiday for me to take a break from the stress but tomorrow’s gonna be yet another dive in.

The top top top question of the day, during all the small talks, would be:

“Oh! This year A levels already ah! So what do you want to do next time?”

My face would just drop. ._.

“I.. don’t know.”

And they’d follow up with a slightly disappointed look.

And so, I’d quickly chirp: “Oh, but I have considered some courses, like ____ and ____”

“OHH WOW! SO WHICH UNIVERSITY YOU WANT TO GO!”

And I’d be thinking: WOAH OKAY HOLD IT THERE.

So, that’s pretty much how every conversation went.

Somehow, as I grow up, the atmosphere dies even more. Chinese New Year used to be such a joyous occasion, but now, everyone’s just making excuses to leave early, to return to their gadgets, to their comfort zones, to whatever they’d rather be doing instead of catching up with the people you really meet just once every year.

And did I mention, I have new cousins! About, 4 of them in fact! And they’re all, what, 30+ years old.

Mum: “Mei! Come say hi to your cousin!”

New cousin and I share an awkward and slightly surprised look.

It’s quite funny, actually. Haha.

Okay, So.. I should be doing my homework now! (:

(thanks for the punny longevity, choobs)

Love,

Deen
